Tricia & Dan Miller
Matthew went safely into the arms of Jesus Tues. Feb. 28. "Blessed be
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies and comfort." Thank you for your concern, prayers,
letters and gifts. Continue to 'watch and pray' as we plan our return
to the Philippines within the next several months. We will miss Matthew
greatly but "the peace that passes all understanding" has
been and will continue to be ours. The Matthew Miller Memorial Fund (WBT,
Huntington Beach, CA) will be used to purchase audio-visual and playground
equipment at the school Matthew attended in the Philippines.
[Editor's
note: Matthew was diagnosed with lymphoma in Sept. 1983]

Deb & Doug Stromberg
On Jan. 6, I started Palm Beach Atlantic College,
taking 6 education courses toward a FL teaching certificate. After 3
courses this summer I hope to be teaching an a Christian school our girls
will also attend. Doug loves being Development Coordinator with SAM. Please
pray that we will not only be involved in our walk with Christ but be
committed to Christ.
-
John & Patty Chestnut
Patty's busy with the boys, playing the organ at church and doing
counted cross-stitch. John has been stripping and
re-papering the walls at home. At church, John is being ?? also but enjoying
most of it. Growth has been both numerical and spiritual and the outreach
possibilities of the Korean church also using our building are exciting.
-
Allan & Cynthia Bosson
Allen will complete his first year as pastor
of Lee St. Baptist Church in June. We're excited about our work here
and love Valdosta.
-
Martha & Jorge Cuevas
We returned Mar. 1 from a 2-month visit with
family and friends in Mexico. Jorge is still in construction, and God is
enabling him to do quick and quality work. There is a possibility my folks
and we will go on the road in the winter, donating our time to build for
Jesus. Pray for God's firm leading. J.B. is now three and full of it!
-
Gene & Bonnie Ward
Gene continues to stay busy as an elder at World
Gospel Church and Bonnie tries to keep up with the 4 little ones. In June,
our families are keeping the children while we enjoy the gift of 2 airline
tickets to Anchorage, AK where we'll visit some good friends. Out
side of June, our home is still open to any who are in the area. We love
opening it to those we love.
-

Our tentative plans for next year: April-June-Deb
goes to school each day in Neuchatel instead of Paul; July 15-Aug. 15-help
with French SIM in Lamorlaye, France; Aug. 84-Feb. 85-live in Harrisburg,
PA, visiting, packing for Africa, flight proficiency for Paul; Feb.-May,
85-additional language study (location unsure) before leaving for Cameroon,
West Africa, June, 1985.
-
Steve & Debbie Fields
Some friends surprised me with a free trip to
Kenya where I spent Dec. 9-Jan. 6 with my parents in Koratina, where they
are starting a work. I still work in purchasing for World Carpet and
teach karate. I speak some in churches and am leading a Precept upon Precept
group. Debbie is fine and does a lot of babysitting. Visitors are always
welcome!
-
Rhonda Hartell
I am here in Neuchatel for 2 semesters of intensive French
study. In mid-July, I will help teach at the SIL in southern France before
returning to Upper Volta where my responsibilities in Ouagadougou will be
specified later.
-
Doris & Neil Wolfe
We are in our fourth year of a 4 1/2 year term.
Pray for our endurance as we aid the work of Bible translation through
aviation and as Children's Home parents.
-
Connie & Al Areheart
Dunn's Chapel is growing. Al loves his ministry
of teaching, counseling, visiting and comforting. Besides the home,
Connie is involved with Ladies Outreach and a weekly discipling class of
young mothers. God has been changing lives and priorities.
-
Armand & Jean LeBlanc
Because of a growth in Jean's thyroid, we've
returned to the States in early March for surgery. We hope to continue
with plans for cross-country travel mid-April through mid-June, spending
May in WA with Armand's mother. Pray for the kids' adjustments and other
'details.'
-
Ed & Margaret Maehlmann
In Sept. our family expanded to include 16
more boys, ages 14-20. Most have experienced a death or divorce in the family,
and each has suffered emotionally, socially, academically and spiritually.
Ed is also able to teach Bible in a public school--a good diversion from
dorm parenting.
-
Grady & Vicki Merritt
Grady's been going to night school taking
job-related computer courses. His Guard training will take him to MS this
summer so we'll go along to visit his family. Vicki's getting out more
with visitation and discipling a new Christian weekly. We're looking
forward to taking the older two to Washington, DC at Easter while Joel stays
with grandma. Also hope to see Larry Allen.
-
Debbie & Peter Jones
"Some boast in chariots and some boast in
horses, but we make our boast in the name of the Lord." A Dec. 16
auto accident injured Peter and Debbie and put baby Luke (born Oct. 29) in
the hospital for 24 days. Now a happy, hefty fellow, Luke is still on
anti-convulsive medication as a precaution, and will soon undergo additional
surgery to remove shunts from his skull. As we look ahead, we count on
you to pray for our complete healing, quick settlement of insurance claims,
swift and just legal proceedings, and most of all that God would build his
church among the Cabecar Indians.
-
Mark & Linda Thomas
This is a time of spiritual movement in England
and we are seeing many encouraging things happening in our area. Mark's
involvement in Mission England meetings as a member of regional and national
committees is a wonderful opportunity to meet church leaders from all
over the country and become aware of what's happening in the church.
With the children in school, Linda's been able to become more involved
locally: ladies' Bible study on Weds., teaching the village SS, and as
part of a local committee involved with reaching women for Christ.
-
Larry & Lenore Hill
Anna Elizabeth was born Oct.28 and we are
delighted. Adjusting to being a family of 5 has been easy--so far!
-
Marlene & Paul Wenzel
We just attended the CBC 60th
anniversary banquet in the Phila. area and it was great to see so many
CBC faces--Joan Kelly and Mr. & Mrs. David Fraser were there too. We are
in our 5th year here at Christ Independent Bible Church and
continue to see growth. Our daughter Megan Leigh was born in July. The
15th Wenzel grandchild (and 2 more on the way) shows the Wenzel
tradition continues. Our love to all.
-
Glynis & David Miller
In Aug. we sold our house in anticipation of
returning to seminary, but the church we talked with for 7-8 weeks decided
they didn't want a pastor in seminary so our plans are still on 'hold.'
In Feb. our church called a new pastor and he and David have a good working
and complimentary relationship and ministry. Rebecca Lynn joined us Sept. 16
and is a delight to us all. Dottie & Stan Smith were with us in
Jan.--what a blessing to us and the church.
